We’re thrilled to announce that our Founder, Ms. Emilie Gay (M.Ed), will be embarking on a transformative journey towards Pikler Pedagogy certification. As part of this exciting venture, we’re attending the annual conference hosted by Pikler UK at The Nursery World Conference from Monday, October 23rd, 2023, to Friday, October 27th, 2023.

“Our commitment to expanding knowledge and expertise extends to every child we nurture”

Pikler Pedagogy, rooted in the pioneering work of Dr. Emmi Pikler, is a beacon of child-centered care and education. Dr. Pikler’s groundbreaking insights have revolutionized the way we understand and support early childhood development. Her pedagogical principles emphasize the importance of autonomy, self-initiated play, and fostering a nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.

What to Expect at the Conference:

During this immersive course, led by Pikler® trainers from Budapest, participants like Ms. Emilie Gay will delve into the heart of Pikler Pedagogy. The program will focus on understanding Dr. Pikler’s crucial pedagogical principles, specifically her ideas regarding infants’ competencies in autonomous play activity.

Throughout the course, participants will:

  1. Explore Everyday Experiences: Gain insights into the Pikler perspective on everyday experiences with children, informed by research studies conducted by the Pikler® Institute.

  2. Understanding Autonomous Play: Learn how infants’ and toddlers’ self-initiated play activity contributes to their well-being and development.

  3. Developmental Stages: Delve into the often-overlooked stages of the development of free play.

  4. Role of the Adult: Consider the essential role of the adult in supporting infant’s and toddler’s self-initiated play activity.

  5. Environment and Materials: Understand the environment and materials needed to facilitate each phase of development.
